Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
The short version
Railguard runs entirely on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data. No telemetry, no analytics, no cloud calls. Your code, commands, and configuration never leave your device.
What Railguard does not collect
- Your source code or file contents
- Commands executed by your AI agent
- Your
railguard.yamlconfiguration - Session traces or logs (these stay on your machine in
.railguard/traces/) - Usage statistics or telemetry
- Crash reports
- IP addresses or device identifiers
Website analytics
This website (railguard.tech) uses Microsoft Clarity for anonymous usage analytics. Clarity collects anonymized interaction data such as page views, scroll depth, and clicks. It does not collect personally identifiable information. You can learn more about Clarity's data practices in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Third-party services
Railguard itself makes zero network requests. It has no dependency on any external service. The only third-party services involved are:
- GitHub — hosts our source code and releases. Subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
- crates.io — distributes the Rust package. Subject to the Rust Foundation Privacy Policy.
- Discord — our community chat. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
Open source
Railguard is open-source under the MIT License. You can audit the entire codebase at github.com/railyard-dev/railguard to verify that no data is collected or transmitted.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Since Railguard runs on-device with no network component, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
